Cross Lines
This mode’s 14 crossed blue laser lines are for faster capture of plain or low-detail surface areas. The intersecting lines help MetroX capture surface data from multiple angles at speeds up to 800,000 points per second.
Parallel
Seven blue laser lines better capture detailed surfaces, edges, and crevices because the uniform lines enable you to scan an object linearly and systematically. This method reduces overlap and gaps in the data, resulting in higher resolution and more accurate scans.
Full-field
In its continuous scanning mode, this powerful mode uses 62 lines of full-field structured blue light to rapidly capture an object at up to 7 million points per second. It can also be used in a single-shot mode to capture 3D data with fewer overlapped frames for a higher-quality 3D model.
Auto Turntable
The brand-new Auto Turntable mode is designed for ease of use, allowing users to fully automate the capture process. By utilizing the Dual-axis turntable, MetroX’s full field mode, and the Revo Scan software to set the capture path, users can confidently capture High-quality 3D data with minimal effort.
Glossy and Dark Surfaces
The laser modes enable MetroX to capture glossy and dark surfaces without the bother of needing to coat them with scanning spray, making the preparation process a little bit easier.
Accuracy
With a single-frame accuracy of up to 0.03 mm and repeatability of up to 0.01 mm, the MetroX has no difficulty ensuring that its data is up to snuff for reverse engineering or quality control applications.
Software
Of course, hardware is only half the story. What really makes MetroX shine is its software (Revo Scan). The best part is that Revo Scan is free and offers full scanning, processing, editing, and merging capabilities.
It has multiple scan settings, such as features, markers, and global marker tracking to deal with any type of object, as well as ones to remove unwanted flat surfaces during the scan and distance sliders to adjust the depth cameras’ capture range. Once the scan is finished, you can use its keyframe editing mode to remove unwanted frames before performing fusion, then use tools like overlap detection, simplify, isolation, and selection tools to clean up unwanted data. After meshing the point cloud, you can fill holes, smooth the surface, and use various other tools to finalize the 3D model.
If you don’t fancy doing it manually, you always use the one-click edit function to process your data with a single click.
You can even scan a larger object like a car in sections, then use Revo Scan’s merge function to connect up to 9 scans at a time to form a larger 3D model.
Once you’ve finished working on your 3D model, you can export it in numerous file formats, such as STL, PLY, or OBJ, for the next step in your workflow.
